PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

September 2022—

Hello Quilters.
We have many things happening in the guild right now. Tickets for our first Christmas Dinner are available. Members may purchase an additional ticket for one guest if they wish. Raffle tickets are on sale for the beautifully donated quilt. The Bridge has been selected by the Christmas committee as our charity for donations. We will have a list of requested items from The Bridge for members to bring to the Christmas Dinner. Pillow cases made by members will be most welcome to their beneficiaries, the ages of the people they help are l4-24 years old so fabrics chosen with that in mind would be appreciated.
Our UFO Challenge is due this month. If you did enter the challenge, bring your finished project to the meeting to show it off and have the chance to win the fabric entry fees.
At our last meeting I announced this year’s President’s Challenge. Quilts that say something. The quilts must have words on them that you create; applique, embroidery, or pieced words. Fabric printed with words doesn’t count!
I introduced a Mini Quilt Swap at the meeting as well. If you want to participate, sign up at break with me. The criteria for the quilt is that no side of the quilt be larger than 36 inches. The way it works is you make a list of things you like and don’t like. Then that list is given to another and they make you a quilt following those things.
